Cues Young Professionals

Mission Statement

The CUES Young Professional Group exists to further the mission of CUES by engaging young professionals to create greater awareness of CUES, deliver financial support and increase volunteer involvement in Sacred Heart, All Saints, and Holy Name Schools.

We do this through:

  • Social networking opportunities to build awareness of the CUES mission
  • Fundraising events to increase financial support for our schools and student scholarships
  • Volunteer opportunities to interact with students and provide service in our schools

As a graduate from St. Pius X/St. Leo School and V.J. and Angela Skutt Catholic High School, I understand the importance of an education promoting Catholic morals and values. As a parishioner at St. Frances Cabrini, I have witnessed the impact the CUES organization has on the students and families of All Saints School. I look forward to helping spread the awareness of this wonderful organization to young professionals throughout Omaha in order to enable children within our community to be blessed with a Catholic education like so many of us were.

I became involved with CUES because I believe that every student deserves a quality education. My passion for education has been shaped, in part, by the Catholic education I received from St. Wenceslaus and Skutt Catholic High School. My education has had a positive impact on my life, for which I am extremely fortunate and thankful. As a result, I know that a student’s education plays an important role in shaping the direction and opportunities in his or her life, and it is for this reason that I believe the continued growth and success of our communities – of Omaha – hinges upon our students having access to a quality education.

Why CUES: I am so impressed by what CUES and the students at Sacred Heart, All Saints, and Holy Name have been able to achieve. I believe very strongly in the importance of providing a challenging, quality education in a supportive, compassionate environment and I’ve seen what a difference a CUES education can make in a young person’s life. I want to do my part (no matter how small) to support CUES as it continues to provide valuable services to our community.

I originally got involved with CUES YPG as a way to become more involved in the Omaha community while getting to know other young professionals. As someone who enjoyed and benefited from Catholic education, I find CUES to be a great way to help give that same opportunity to kids and families in our community who need it the most.

Stewardship & Development Office – Archdiocese of Omaha

I am a proud product of Catholic education – grade school through college. The values taught to me through my parents and education have shaped my view of the world and how I choose to live in it. Working for the archdiocese, I have seen the impact the CUES schools have on our community and the many lives they change each day. I have witnessed the transformational power of our inner-city schools, as well as the love and dedication of our teachers who influence our students every day and create leaders for tomorrow.

As a Holy Name graduate, my love for Holy Name has been instilled since birth, subsequently, CUES has broadened that love. Growing up in north Omaha, between school and spending time at my Father’s shop, I am acutely aware of the impact Holy Name has on the community surrounding it. I understand the importance of our inner-city schools and truly value the power of Catholic education – the difference our CUES schools are making in the lives of our students, their immediate communities and to Omaha as a whole is inexpressible.

Mechanical Engineer – HDR

I was born and raised in the heart of Omaha, NE. I have been a member of Saint Margaret Mary’s parish from baptism. In the parish I enjoy participating in Bible Studies, I have served on the Catechesis and Faith Formation Board for several years, and I coach boys soccer for the school. Professionally, I am a mechanical engineer.

I joined CUES YP because I was drawn to the mission and the community it serves, as Pope Francis says “May we always care for our children, not counting the cost, so that they may never believe themselves to be mistake, but always know their infinite worth.”
